Questions and Answers.
Question 1:
As the visitor passes can be quite time consuming, is it possible to get multi-day passes for the crew to cover the entire installation?
Yes, because the installation will take 3 – 4 days it is possible to get a pass that will cover that time frame. Since there will be a break for carpet and acoustical tiles between removal and installation the crews will be required to get passes for each phase.
Question 2:
End panels are not specifically mentioned in the statement of work yet there are upholstered endpanels on the current chairs, are they required? Should they be upholstered?
Yes, end panels are required, they should NOT be upholstered as contact with legs causes the fabric to fray. End panels shall be matched to the backrest shells and be full height.
Question 3:
Can the removal crew stage a large dumpster for the old seating during the tear out?
Yes, room will be provided near the other dumpsters at the loading dock for the temporary placement of a dumpster to collect the old chairs. Typical procedures for truck access to the base will apply.
Question 4:
Where can the truck be staged for unload?
Trucks can access the loading dock, gate access is from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM though it was noted that the loading dock is busiest from 10:00 to 2:00 so it would be helpful if unloading could avoid that time frame
Question 5:
It was noted that the chairs in the front three rows were on a reduced slope or flat floor yet maintained the sloped leg characteristics, does the MDG want to maintain the angle to help with viewing in the front rows since they are so close to the stage?
Yes, maintain the slope but not the reduced height that is typical of the chairs that are on the slope.
