Salient Characteristics for

60 MXS/MXMFN

Magnetic Wet Bench with 6,000 A of DC 3-Phase FWDC Capability and 2500 A of AC Capability “equal” to Magnaflux D-2060 with MOD 2.5 AC

60 MXS / MXMFN has a requirement for a magnetic wet bench with 3-Phase FWDC 6,000 A capability and 2,500 A of AC. Purpose of the requirement is to perform stationary magnetic particle inspection of aircraft components for C-5, C-17, and KC- 10 components IAW T.O. 33B-1-2, T.O. 33B-1-1, T.O. 1C-17A-36, 1C-5M-36, and 1C-10(K)A-36

The contractor shall provide the following:

Magnaflux D-2060 or “Equal” Magnetic Wet Bench with 3-Phase FWDC 6,000 A Capability and AC current of 2,500 A

The contractor shall meet the following specifications/salient characteristics:

- The unit shall have a magnetizing current capacity: 3-Phase FWDC 6,000 A, MOD

2.5 AC magnetization /demagnetization 2,500 A of AC current.

- The rated maximum output shall be at least DC 6000 amperes and for AC is 2500 amperes.

- The unit shall have a Voltage of 460 V.

- The unit shall have a frequency 60 Hz.

- The unit shall be configured to the long part capacity to increase max clamping length to 102 in / 259 cm.

- The unit shall be configured to have a Larger Capacity Coil 16in/40cm Coil with raising blocks instead of 12 in/ 30 cm coil.

- Unit must be PLC controlled

- The overall length shall be 136 x 41 in / 346 x 104 cm and height shall be no higher than 61 in.

- The unit shall have an adjustable mag shot time from 0.5 to 2 seconds.

- Unit must be capable of one touch double mag shot capability

- The unit shall pass all fluorescent magnetic particle process controls as specified in

T.O. 33B-1-2 WP 103 00.

- Unit must have machine repeatability down to as low as 100 amps.

- Onsite service support must be able to be onsite within 24 hours of notification (M – F).

- Manufacturer be able to provide telephone support during normal business M – F, 0600-0000

- The unit shall be delivered with all equipment necessary for immediate operation (e.g. circuit breaker box, air pressure regulator, air filter).

- Unit must be delivered with 3 year warranty

The Contractor shall provide the following accessories:

- Oil bath start-up kit with 14A, 1 lb / 453 g jar, and Carrier II, 11 (EA) 5 gallon drums.

- Hand held LED UV Lamp, 100-240 V, 50-60 Hz that will have an intensity of at least 1000 microwatts per square centimeter at 15 inches, and shall have a peak transmission wavelength of 365 nanometers + 1.0%.

- Two double braided contact pads with V block, 4.75 x 7.5 in / 12 x 19 cm.

- Long GE-96 or equal inspection enclosure hood with ventilation fan for a darkened inspection area without sacrificing function and operator comfort.

- Field Indicator, 10 Gauss, non-calibrated.

- Pie Field Gage.

- Centrifuge tube for 14A particles (use with 14A, 14AM, 20B).

- Centrifuge tube stand.

- UV-A absorbing safety glasses.

Special Requirements:

- Shall pass all fluorescent magnetic particle process controls as specified in T.O.

33B-1-2 WP 103 00, Table 1

- The unit shall be capable of performing magnetic particle inspection processes as described ASTM E1444.
