REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

AIRCRAFT CORROSION CONTROL SERVICES

3 SEPTEMBER 2014

The offeror is reminded to review the most recent request for information for accuracy. The latest response to a request for information supersedes any previous responses.

Q1) ”What vehicles are required to perform these services? Are they provided by the Government? i.e., vacuum truck, flightline wash vehicle and water bowser, high reach equip?”

A1) The only vehicles provided by the government are aircraft towing vehicles. These are housed and maintained by the maintenance units. Upon availability contractors may sign the equipment out through coordination with the COR.

Q2) ”What type of vehicle is required to perform wash services to the museum aircraft? Is this provided by the Government?”

A2) The government does not supply any vehicles for aircraft washing. Vehicles must meet State of California, County and local laws and regulations.

Q3) “What type of pads/sponges/brushes/poles are required? Are these provided by the Government or reimbursed to the Service Provider (SP)?”

A3) The government does not supply pads/sponges/brushes/poles, the costs associated with these materials shall be included in the contractors proposed cost. There is no reimbursable CLIN on the proposed contract. Contractor must comply with the applicable Technical Orders (T.O.)

Q4) “Is the SP required to provide a scissor lift/boom lift or is this included in Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) listed in the PWS?”

A4) The government will only provide non-powered Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE). This has been corrected in the PWS.

Q5) “Please describe the hanger drain blocks required to be supplied by the SP? Are they simply flat rubber matting type material or something more complex?”

A5) The PWS references storm drains on the flightline not the hanger. The hanger drains are the only drains approved for disposal of wash water. The storm drain blocks are used to contain wash water and prevent it from entering the drains before removal.

The Government reserves the right to approve/disapprove contractor provided storm water prevention blocks.
