About this file
This document is a Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source contract under 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 for the installation of a Duress Alarm system at Joint Base Charleston, SC - Air Base.
The 628th Contracting Squadron intends to award a sole source contract to SSK Military Industries, Inc. for the Cypres 2 Devices, a proprietary parachute activation system required by the 437th Operations Support Squadron. The justification for the sole source award is based on the unique characteristics and proprietary nature of the Cypres 2 system. The government conducted market research but found only one vendor, Divine Imaging, on the GSA schedule, and a request for quotes/information resulted in no responses. The government will continue to monitor the market for potential future competition. The anticipated cost is deemed fair and reasonable.
