About this file
This document is a Contractor Questions and Answers file for a lift station project, containing three specific queries from contractors and the corresponding government responses. The questions address technical details about the project, including lift station data availability, pump specifications, and installation methods. Key details include that Hydromatic pumps may be used if they meet project specifications and are equivalent to the Basis of Design pumps, and that for pump installation, the existing pump will be removed and replaced with two new pumps using a "base stand" method to avoid drilling holes in the fiberglass wet well. The attached image shows a performance graph for a Barracuda GRP 12 / GRP 19 pump, which appears to be a reference for the pump installation specifications.

Contractor Questions and Answers
Q: “Speaking on the lift station work, I can’t seem to find a flow rate or TDH for setting up bypass. Is there any way you could help me with this information so that I can quote the general contractors properly? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.”
A: Known lift station data is provided on Attachment 2 (Lift Station Data, Existing).
Q: Will Hydromatic pumps be acceptable to supply for the new pumps at each station that calls for them?
A: Any pumps that meet the project specifications and are equivalent to the pumps used as the Basis of Design (BOD) in the drawings will be acceptable to the government. If they are confident their pumps meet the required specifications, then they can use it in their package.
Q: On Sheet C-112 and C-113 We are to protect the existing Fiberglass wet well and install 2 new pumps. I would assume the existing pump base would need to be replaced, we have to add one pump and base. If we Drill a hole through the bottom of the wet well to install new brackets that could create an issue of water infiltration. Is there an alternate method that the engineer has in mind for mounting these pump bases?
A: The intent is that the old pump will be removed, and the two new ones will be installed.
As for the mounting, the pumps are small enough to use a “base stand” only. See image for an example.
