The flooring must have antimicrobial protection, allow liquids to drain, and have a minimum 5-year manufacturer warranty and 1-year workmanship warranty. There were no previous incumbents, and work is expected to begin after contract award and a notice to proceed is issued, as the glass partition will be removed prior to construction. Acceptable work hours are from 0600 to 1800 daily. The Air Force cannot facilitate unloading of materials shipped directly to the site. Black or gray rubber flooring with flecks is preferred. SITE VISIT QUESTIONS and RESPONSES
Q1: Will the glass partition be removed?
A1: Yes, the glass will be removed prior to work starting. Once the contract is awarded, a notice to proceed will be issued prior to the start of the project.
Q2: Has there been issues with water/moisture?
A2: Not that we are aware of. However, issues with moisture have arisen for a similar requirement involving a basketball court
Q3: The RFP requests 1” thick rubber flooring - rolled. This is not a standard thickness for rolled flooring but is available in tile. Would the Air Force accept a ½” or ¾” roll? Would the Air Force accept 1” thick rubber tile?
A3: Minimum of ¾” rolled. Many vendors have 22.5mm (.89”), 25mm (.98”) or 1” flooring that is ideal (Sorinex, Ecore, Plae, and Regupol some of these).
Q4: Will extended work hours be acceptable?
A4: The building is staffed with FSS personnel from 0600 to 1800. This daily window would be acceptable for working hours.
Q5: If the material were to be shipped directly to Hurlburt Field – would the Air Force be able to facilitate unloading?
A5: No. Our program does not have our own forklift or operator.
Q6: Are you open to any color other than black, example all black with 10% Grey specs within the black?
A6: Black or gray with flake is preferred to not show dirt or sand easily.
Q7: Is there any particular form you would like to receive the bid request?
A7: For the submission of documents are the combo synopsis with your proposal in the pricing section. You can also provide a traditional quote as long as we get all the info that is requested in the combo/synopsis solicitation.
