FA441724B0003 HVAC Project RFIs
1. Please provide drawing for the Chilled water from the 1st floor up to Mezz. level & connection points.
Response: The point of connection is at the base of the riser on the first floor.
2. Will temp cooling be required? If so, please provide temp cooling plans to review.
Response: No temporary cooling is required.
3. Is work only being done related to upper level? What about other areas?
Response: HVAC is only being replaced on the second floor.
4. Can this job be supervised by a triple-hat?
Response: Yes
5. Can another site visit be scheduled?
Response: No, however the winner can schedule a post award site visit.
6. Will any fire alarm device work be necessary as there are devices in the ACT, and if so provide the fire alarm manufacturer name?
Response: Existing ceiling mounted devices are to be reinstall in new ceiling. Fire alarm manufacture is Notifier. Existing smoke detectors in existing AHU’s 3, 4 and 5 are to be removed. New duct smoke detector is to be installed in new AHU-2A supply duct. Existing emergency shutdown switch is to shutdown new AHU-2A, new EF-9 and close new dampers on outside air and exhaust air ducts. See drawing sheet M-701.
7. Will the project require the fire sprinkler heads to be replaced or relocated where the ACT is being replaced?
Response: Existing sprinkler heads are to remain and reinstalled in new ceiling.
8. The electrical feeder conduits to feed new panels HMB and M2 will be routed in the hangar area of the building. Does this area have a hazardous material rating? The existing conduit is not hazardous rated.
Response: Hazardous classification areas for hangar are in accordance with NFPA 70, Article 513 Aircraft Hangars.
9. Note #1 on sheet E-602 is calling for one 150 Amp 3-Pole CB to be added to existing Switchboard MSB to feed new Panel HMB. It also calls for a new 200-amp 3-pole CB to be added for new Panel M2. The GE Style 150A SELA circuit breaker will fit into the existing space of the switchboard. It appears that the 200-amp 3-pole CB feeding Panel M2 will not fit into the existing allowed space of the switchboard. Can you verify this for us please? The GE 200A 3-pole circuit breaker will have a larger frame size than the 150A CB.
Response: See addendum #1.
10. On sheet A-101, Note #1 states to remove and replace acoustical ceiling tiles and grid. Are the existing lighting fixtures independently supported from the building structure properly? If the fixtures are not properly supported, please clarify if the project scope includes adding support of the fixtures during re-installation.
Response: Existing light fixtures are currently supported off the ceiling grid and can be reinstalled in the same manner.
11. Can one person serve as superintendent, quality control manager, and site safety and health officer if they have the experience and training required for each position?
Response: Yes.
12. On Drawing M-201, at the top of the page, see adjacent room left (north) of Stair No. 2. There appear to be (2) two motorized dampers shown. Are these devices an integral part of this project?
Response: No.
