Notice ID FA444172723QC011, Aluminum Ammo Brass Bins Inquiries

A). Bin Dimension specified as 72" Long x 50" Wide x 16" High, are these internal or external dimensions?

These would be the external dimensions for the brass bin. If you need internal dimensions let me know.

A1). Has this Bin been made before and if so do you have any photos or sketches of same?

The brass bin has been made before. We do have pictures of the brass-bin, but we do not have sketches for the brass bin.

B). In order to have the most cost-effective design, is it feasible to revise the 50" wide dimension to 48" wide, which is the standard commercially (Mill) produced Aluminum sheets/plates in the USA?

The 48” wide dimensions would be feasible. Is there any standard for width pass 50” for cost effective designs?

B1). Fork lift

We plan to put Fork lift runners on the short side of shot side (width ) of the Bin is this of for your fork lift facilities

The Runners will be Aluminum Channels, which will add a few inches to the height if the Bin.

How big will the Aluminum Channels be? The type of forklifts will have prongs of the size of 5-7 inches Width.

C). Finishing Specification states "Rhino"coating on internal surface and Grey paint (Type of paint and number of coats not specified on external surfaces).

May we have the option to "Powder Coat " Bin all over with a high grade coating ,which is basically a life time coating, maintenance free, eliminate any "Galvanic corrosion between the Brass ammo and the Aluminum Bin".

P/Coating available in any color you may require?

Black would be the preferred color for the internal surface / Grey would be for the External Color

Pictures will be attached for reference. Below is what our corrosion control section uses for painting requirements for our other equipment’s that we use.

Polyurethane Coating(Grey/Metal) – 8010 -01-621-3056 ( 2 X Coats) Epoxy Primer(Grey) – 8010-01-589-7077 ( 3 Coats)

D). We require a few 5/8" holes on the 16" side to facilitate the Bin during the surface finishing process.

Those holes will be fine.

E). What size "Tie down" aluminum ring is required?

5 inches / with 2 ½ inch holes, as this is a new addition to the MOD. Requesting the capability to utilize a CGU-1B strap (10,000 lb “tie down” capacity)

F). Does the Bin require the following:

Drain holes in bottom surface for cleaning purposes?

Part Number stenciled on unit?

Drain holes would be for cleaning purposes and also to prevent flooding inside the bin in case of rain..etc. Part Number on the bin would be preferred for legacy purposes.

Any eternal handles to manually assist during setting Bins in place etc?

If it is possible to add eternal handles. Yes.

G). The bins will have Aluminum runners incorporated into the design to accommodate the Forklift (to handle the Bin).

Copy. We will have pictures of how the bin will sit on top of our equipment. Let me know if that will affect the aluminum runners at all. Thank you.

F) We intend to ship Bins via commercial carrier to:

1 SOMUNS/MXWPD

235 Tully Street Hurlburt ,Field Florida 34544 Do you have a preferred carrier? No Our shipping cost will be in our quoted price.
