Questions and Answers FA441721QC157 – ATC Tower Camera System
1. Is the PMS (Private Managed System) switch located on the 11th floor a POE switch?
A: No
2. Does the PMS switch have a least (3) ports available for the additional cameras? If not will the client provide an additional switch to bridge the connection for the new cameras to the existing PMS switch?
A: Switch has 4 ports.
3. Will any additional NVR or Media storage equipment be required for this project, or will that be provided by the contractor updating the AFAS (Airfield Automation Systems)?
A: NVR and Media storage provided.
4. The SOW states one (1st Floor) camera will be mounted in the entrance of the tower facing the elevator and the stairwell. During the SITE visit we were told and shown that this camera should be installed outside the interior entry door on the first floor to better cover the area of their existing video doorbell that is having problems. Which is the correct location?
A: There are two cameras for the first floor. One is for the external entrance and one is for the entrance internal to.
5. In the RFQ it states that the cabling (*Must be a COAX Cable compatible). I want to verify that we are to use Cat5 or Cat6 as stated in the SOW, or is the Cat5 or Cat6 for the network connection to the PMS/AFAS only?
A: Unknown. Quote for both is site answer. Will verify on installation.
6. In the SOW 1.1.1.1 it states (Setup the cameras on the current AFAS and provide window viewers on the system). Is this something that is provided from the AFAS setup that we will load the cameras into, or separate viewing software being provided by the contractor?
A: Software and hardware is provided by the AFAS.
7. PWS paragraph 1.1 lists this as “One camera (base floor) will be in the entrance of the tower facing the elevator and stairwell to identify who enters and exits the facility. Interior Camera 2: Clarifying question of where to install this specific camera – at the end of the hallway, facing the area providing access to both the stairwell and the elevator? Or above the secured door providing access to the aforementioned area where again they could “see the faces of those entering”?
A: Paragraph is worded poorly. Camera location for internal camera needs to be direct towards body level of internal entrance door of tower.
8. PWS paragraph 1.1 lists this as “The third camera will be placed at the entrance to the tower cab door (10th floor) to prevent unauthorized entry to the tower cab. During the site survey the camera location wanted is partially obscured at optimal mounting height by HVAC conduit. Can the camera be mounted lower and aimed upward at the stairwell?
A: Yes
9. The AFAS System in the Tower Cab appeared to be a standalone computer tower. Can you confirm if this system is analog camera compatible?
A: Yes/yes
10. Is there any certification for the AFAS system necessary?
A: No
