QUESTIONS & ANSWERS, FA4417-09-R-0006

DATE: 20 FEB 09

1. Phase I:

Question: The drawings are not showing any type of stripping. Do they want any or not at all?

Answer: Road markings currently do not exist and are not required in this phase.

2. Phase II:

Question: The drawings are indicating the sub-base for the road will be Limerock. The specs do not talk about any specific material; they just say the minimum compaction needed for this part. Could we use GAB instead?

Answer: Use GAB meeting specification Section 02231.

3.

Question: What type of light poles are the ones that need to be replaced? Who is going to do the relocation for the poles that need to be relocated?

Answer: Contractor to remove, store, and replace light pole.

4.

Question: What is the thickness for the Armorflex Slope Protection? 4 inches is the most common.

Answer: The Armorflex slope protection is distributed by Contech Construction Products, Inc. The product should be Block Class 30s with 4.75” thickness (or approved equal product).

5.

Question: Are we going to be able to close the two phases at the same time? Are we going to have to finish the Phase I to start Phase II.

Answer: Project 07-1014 and 07-1015 may be started at the same time. Contractor is to follow phasing on Project 07-1014 as indicated on drawings (the two locations in the housing area cannot be worked the same time). Also, once work begins on Project 07-1015, the contractor must complete work and Independence Road cannot be closed for more than 30 calendar days (see Amendment #2 to solicitation FA4417-09-R-0006).
