MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD 27 August 2018

SUBJECT: Answers to Questions Posed At & After Site Visit : FA4407-18-Q-3002

1. The purpose of this MFR is to provide answers to questions posed at or after the site visit for the subject line solicitation. All answers were provided by the Requirements Owner and are listed below in no specific order.

Q: Will an “Over and Above” be added to the request.?

A: Yes, a new line item will be added to Revision One of the RFQ to include labor rates and costs for reimbursable parts for any unforeseen repairs.

Q: Is this going to be a Minor Repair? If so we would be looking at replacing the bearings, packing rings, casing gasket, gland bolts, gland washers, and o rings.

A: Besides what is mentioned in the question there is also inspections of the electrical motor, balancing pump impeller and pump rotor, and re-paint necessary trim and outer casing to factory specifications. These items are listed in the SOW.

Q: When would be the expected start date?

A: Once awarded, coordination will be ran through the 375th WFSM shop.

Q: Upon review of the SOW work document, can you please verify if the existing Pumps & Motors need to be removed as described in Section 3.1 "Fire Pump Removal" ... The cost associated with this process is extreme. All Servicing could be accomplished on site with the exception of possibly the Impeller and Rotor Balancing.

A: The SOW states to remove the pumps and motors. We decided this would be the best approach due to the fact that there is some resurfacing that does need to be accomplished. Also The area needs to be free and clear of obstruction in case of an activation of the pumps that requires an emergency response.

Q: Is the government wanting the shaft mechanically turned?

A: I would have to think that this would be part of the servicing if it is needed in order to balance out the operation between the pump and the motor.

A handful of other questions were posed regarding pump specs. Pictures of the placards for all three pumps have been uploaded to this soicitation providing specifications such as Horse Power, Gallons Per Minute, Etc.
