About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract opportunity to purchase, assemble, and install a new conference table for the Commanders Conference Room at the Barnes Center for Enlisted Education on Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex.

The key requirements include furnishing a custom "U"-shaped table that is 210"L x 180"W x 29"H, with a 36" deep wood veneer top that allows for a minimum of 18 senior-level Air Force personnel to be seated around the outside perimeter. The table must have a professional, aesthetically-pleasing appearance and functionality to meet the mission needs of the Barnes Center. Assembly, installation, and debris removal are included in the scope. This SOW was developed based on input from instructors, market research, and consultation with the manufacturer. The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation Sources Sought/Request for Information (RFI) from the Department of the Air Force's Air Education and Training Command, seeking contractors that can potentially meet these requirements.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Commanders Conference Room – Barnes Center for Enlisted Education

1.0. Scope: Purchase, assembly, and installation of Conference Table for the Commanders Conference Room at the Barnes Center for Enlisted Education – Building 832 – Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex.

Executive Summary: This requirement is to furnish the Commander Conference Room with a special size and shape table and chairs. The existing tables are over 12 years old and worn with scratches that cannot be repaired and have outlived their useful purpose. In addition, the existing tables are single tables pushed together and will not comfortably fit the number of students we need without having to seat multiple senior level Air Force students at the seams where the tables meet. The new table shall fit over the existing power boxes in the floor so that they do not fall in the chair space or the users leg space.

We did extensive market research to find a table with the functionality and professional appearance commensurate with our course that will also fit in the room to accommodate minimum twenty five (25) senior level Air Force Personnel while leaving space around the perimeter of the room to seat an executive panel. This requirement is for the 210”L x 180”W x 29”H “U” Shaped Table. Surfaces shall be 36”D. Selection of this particular table was made with regard to the size and shape of the table and its aesthetically professional look and the capability of this table to be tight fitted together for a “one piece look”. The table’s unique shape allows for extra space needed for executive panels to be seated around the perimeter of the room for the course. The table will need to meet our professional, functional, and aesthetic needs in maintaining our mission as the Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education.

2.0. Description of Requirement:

2.1. Minimum Requirements for Commanders Conference Table:

· Table shall be 1 3/16” thick veneer top with solid wood edge.

· Table shall be a fixed “U” shape with the capability to fit a minimum of 18 senior level Air Force personnel around the outside perimeter.

· Table tops shall be 36”D multiple piece top tight jointed together for a “one piece” look.

· Outer edges of training tables shall have multiple edge profile selections.

· Table shall be wood veneer and sequenced and book matched to maximize the beauty of the natural wood grain.

· Training tables shall have full height veneer wall bases with veneer on both sides of base and flush mounted brackets for structural support.

· Table bases shall have a minimum 20” of clear legroom on 36” deep tops. The base shall be full height from the underside of the table to the levelers at the finished floor and is finished on both sides, which performs as a modesty panel for everyone seated at the table.

· Table base shall come standard with a hinged access door adjacent to every power unit which provides easy access to the hollow interior of the base.

3.0. Assembly, Installation, and Removal of debris:

Assembly and Installation of the Command Conference Room table is required by the contractor. It shall be noted that table will go on the first floor. There is a loading dock. The contractor shall remove all cardboard and packing materials associated with the delivery, assembly, and installation of the Wing Commanders Classroom table.
