CLUB XL SPEAKER SYSTEM

STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES

1.0. PURPOSE: Improve sound quality and capability of existing sound system at Club XL, Laughlin AFB, TX, to eliminate garbled and distorted speaker performance (vibrations, feedback, static, buzzing, etc.) and achieve a “theater experience” with strong bass and clear high pitch sounds. In 2015, a new, more robust sound system was installed and completed with high quality amplifiers and a digital control system. However, the speakers were not replaced and, therefore, do not complement the newer stereo system equipment.

2.0. SCOPE: Assess current speakers/speaker system (to include microphones) and site conditions. Provide a proposal for improvements to resolve existing speaker system poor sound quality situation. The plan shall include actions to achieve sound quality that is clear and loud enough to be heard over a crowd of 250-300 persons, that will enable an audio experience without interference (regardless of bass or pitch settings).

The contractor should supply all resources necessary to remove, install, and operate the improved system and effect the stated required results. All replaced equipment and materials and resulting debris shall be removed and disposed of by the contractor off of Laughlin AFB, TX. Removed speakers (with associated connecting wires, mounting brackets, screws, etc.) and original microphones shall be turned over to the Club XL manager or his representative after completion of work. Newly installed equipment shall be compatible with existing sound system, as well as the digital control system, and support the various zones within the Club XL building the current system supports.
