About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for a federal premises wiring solicitation (B704) at Columbus Air Force Base.
The project involves installing premise wiring infrastructure in Building B704, including CAT6 cabling, patch panels, wall-mounted communications cabinets, cable tray, and related termination equipment. Key requirements include: (1) one 66 block at the BDF location and one 24-port patch panel inside the cabinet for a 25-pair/24 AWG riser cable running approximately 100-150 feet; (2) a 48-port CAT6 patch panel with cable management and blank panels in the existing wall-mounted communications cabinet; (3) 19 drop locations consisting of one quad outlet, five wall phone drops (single CAT6 with wall jack plus spare CAT6), and 13 duplex outlets, all using genuine PANDUIT components; (4) industry-standard cable tray where needed (contractor identifies requirements based on site conditions); (5) CAT6 cabling that is TAA-compliant and contractor-furnished; and (6) as-built drawings in PDF format. The contractor is responsible for measuring ceiling heights, identifying all required equipment, and assuming both reuse of existing raceways and installation of new raceway/support hardware as needed. SCA Wage Determinations apply. Government personnel will provide base access, coordinate cutover operations through CS/NCC technicians, and provide material laydown/storage areas as needed. No further site visits are available; no government-furnished equipment, network switches, or escort requirements apply. Proposal evaluation will be based on price and technical factors with no past performance consideration.

Questions and Answers (Premise Wiring B704)
1. As mentioned in the Statement of Work, 2.2.10, cable tray is required for all new cabling but it does not reflect on figure C-1. Could I get clarification on if any tray is needed?
Answer: 2.2.10 reference to C-1 is to show the entire job site where trays may be needed. If throughout the install no cable trays were needed, then none will be provided. Contractor is responsible for identifying required equipment.
2. Please confirm whether the 2 wall drops are single-cable drops, wall-phone drops, or another configuration.
Answer: These are all wall phones. Single CAT6 cable with wall jack. The second cable will be spare, terminated on CAT 6 jack.
3. Please confirm whether the total requirement is 37 individual cable/jack terminations, not 37 outlet locations.
Answer: The Site Survey showed (1) Quad, (5) wall phone & (13) Duplex outlet locations.
4. Please provide or confirm the required cable tray type since ladder tray and center-spline tray are prohibited.
Answer: Industry Standard.
5. Please confirm whether existing raceway may be reused at all marked drop locations, or if new raceway should be included.
Answer: Both. Can reuse but must provide where needed.
6. Please confirm the location and required termination method for the 25-pair / 24 AWG riser cable, 66 block, and 24-port patch panel.
Answer: A 66 block at BDF location (in green) and 24-port patch panel inside cabinet.

Answer: No further site visit is available.
15. Will contractor/government handle base access and escort coordination (Site Visit Request Letter, badging)?
Answer: If applicable, the government will handle base access for any site visits or once an awardee is established.
16. Are network switches/active electronics in scope, or passive cabling only?
Answer: N/A
17. Any bonding, additional insurance, or certified-payroll requirements?
Answer: N/A
18. Roughly how much new cable tray is expected (full route vs. sections), and how many comm cabinets are being reused? These are our largest cost unknowns.
Answer: see answers to questions 1.
19. Will any lifts, scaffolding, or elevated work platforms be required to complete work in Building B704 ? If so, will the Government provide lifts/elevated access equipment for contractor use, or should the contractor include this equipment in its proposal?
Answer: No Gov’t provided equipment.
20. What are the ceiling heights for Building B704?
Answer: Contractor responsible for measuring ceiling height for appropriate material quantities.
21. Are there any specific manufacturer or brand requirements for the Cat-6 patch panels, or are equivalent Cat-6 TIA-568B compliant patch panels acceptable?
Answer: SOW 2.2.8.
22. What are the rack/cabinet specifications for the existing wall-mounted communications cabinets in Building B704, including rack unit availability, cabinet depth, width, mounting type, and available space for new patch panels/cable management?
Answer: See answer to question 7.
23. The SOW requires PANDUIT outlets and jacks, and Appendix B references PANDUIT jacks, faceplates, box outlets, and raceways.
