About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a federal contract opportunity to purchase small refrigerators for Sheppard Air Force Base. The Q&A addresses key procurement details, including delivery, shipping, and product specifications. Key requirements include accepting multiple shipments within 30-60 days, considering slight dimensional variations while maintaining 3.2 cu ft capacity, and a preference for white refrigerators (with black as a potential alternative). The government will provide offloading personnel and requires refrigerators to be manufactured in the United States in accordance with the Buy American Act.

The document specifies additional requirements such as a one-year warranty, delivery to Building 1121 with adherence to standard dock and security procedures, and coordination with a designated point of contact for delivery scheduling. The solicitation is for 315 small refrigerators with specific technical requirements, including a 2-door design, 120V/60Hz voltage, 65-watt power, and no exterior handles, consistent with the original solicitation details for the Air Force Education and Training Command.

CEH Small Refrigerator Purchase

1. Are you open to receiving the order in multiple shipments?

Yes, multiple shipments are acceptable.

2. Would you be willing to consider a mini fridge that slightly deviates from these dimensions? For example, a model measuring 19.37” (D) x 18.31” (W) x 32.28” (H), while still maintaining the same 3.2 cu ft capacity?

Yes, we can consider slight deviations from the specified dimensions if the unit maintains the 3.2 cu ft capacity.

3. What is the required timeframe for delivery?

We request delivery within 30 days of order placement. If multiple shipments are necessary, we would like to receive the initial shipment within 30 days of the order date, with the remaining shipments completed within 60 days of the order date.

4. Are you open to other colors, like grey or black? White is expensive & hard to find!

[Other colors are cheaper than white]

Our preference is to maintain consistency across our dormitories, and previous orders have been for white refrigerators. However, if sourcing white units proves to be a consistently significant challenge, we will consider black as an alternative.

5. For warranty, what are your expectations?

A warranty of up to one year is acceptable. Please provide details regarding the warranty coverage offered with your proposed refrigerator models.

6. Does the Base have a loading/unloading dock that the small refrigerators would arrive at?

Yes, a loading/unloading dock is available at Bldg. 1121 for deliveries. Please ensure your delivery personnel are aware of standard dock procedures and any necessary security protocols upon arrival.

7. Does the base have a team to offload the refrigerators, or does the contractor need to do it?

The government will provide manpower to offload the refrigerators upon delivery. Please coordinate with the designated point of contact to schedule the delivery and ensure a smooth offloading process.

8. Do you need made in US only for this product or you open to any?

Yes, this product must be manufactured in the United States in accordance with the Buy American Act. Please ensure that any proposed refrigerators meet this requirement.
