About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity FA301626R0037, a Request for Quote (RFQ) for instructor chairs at JBSA Lackland, Texas. The government is procuring 150 instructor chairs—one per classroom across 158 total classrooms, with the 332d TRS providing a room list identifying which classrooms require replacement chairs. The chairs will be located on both first and second floors, with two elevators available for delivery. A loading dock is available for use between 0600–1500 hours at the rear of Building 7535 off Tinker Avenue.

The government will only consider three specified chair models (Raven, Mimico, and IC2) and will not accept alternative models, even if they meet the salient characteristics. Contractors may quote any single model from these three options; an amendment to the solicitation will remove language requiring quotation on all CLINs. Delivery is required 90 days after contract award, not the previously listed September 30, 2026 deadline. Contractors must submit manufacturer specification sheets and cut sheets with their quotes. Onsite assembly is permitted to reduce shipping costs. For the IC2 chair model, high-density foam is a firm requirement. The cutoff date for contractor questions was 10:00 am CST on July 14, 2026.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Cutoff date for contractor questions is 10:00 am CST, 14 Jul 2026.

Question 1: Are alternates being considered as long as they follow the same characteristics/specifications listed on the salient characteristics attachment?

Government Response: The customer is only considering the referenced chair options as they meet their specifications.

Question 2: Is there a loading dock available?

Government Response: Yes, a loading dock is available for use between the hours of 0600 – 1500hrs. The dock is located to the rear of Bldg 7535 off Tinker Ave.

Question 3: How is the chair distribution? How many chairs per room? How many rooms?

Government Response: 1 instructor chair per classroom. We have 158 classrooms. 332d TRS will provide a room list for classrooms requiring a new chair.

Question 4: Are all the final locations in the first floor? If not, please let me know if there is an elevator, or if the chairs need to be stair-carried.

Government Response: No. Classrooms are on the first and second floors. There are 2 elevators.

Question 5: Are the chairs referenced the only acceptable options? Can we offer alternative options that meet the salient characteristics and basis of design?

Government Response: The customer is only considering the referenced chair options as they meet their specifications.

Question 6: On the pricing structure: CLIN 0001 lists three option sub-lines (Raven, Mimico, and IC2), and the RFQ notes that failure to quote on all CLINs makes a quote unacceptable. Since the requirement is for 150 chairs total, should we enter a separate price on each of the three option lines, or may we quote a single model that meets the salient characteristics against the 150-chair requirement?

Government Response: Please quote any of the three models listed that you have available, but a single model will be selected. Please note that the customer is only considering the referenced chair models. Amended to the solicitation will be posted to remove the “all” verbiage.

Question 7: Can you confirm that a chair we source which meets or exceeds all of the salient characteristics in the attachment is acceptable, even if it is not one of the three example models listed?

Government Response: The customer is only considering the referenced chair options as they meet their specifications.

Question 8: The Statement of Work calls for delivery within 90 days after award, and Section B lists a delivery date on or before 30 September 2026. Could you confirm which one governs?

Government Response: Delivery date is 90 days after award.

Question 10: Can the chairs be assembled onsite to reduce the cost of shipping?

Government Response: Yes.

Question 11: Concerning the IC2 chair, is a high density foam a firm requirement?

Government Response: Yes.
