SUBJECT: MEDICAL MATERIEL TECHNICIAN

The Government is only conducting market research and attaining information to identify contractors that are capable of providing the services listed below.

The Government is currently utilizing NAICS 493110 General Warehousing and Storage All information provided is STRICTLY VOLUNTARY.

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to query the market for potential interested, capable, responsible, and qualified small business that can provide/perform the stated requirement. The government is interested in collecting market data/information in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10, from potential sources that have the capability to provide the Otolaryngology Technician services, as identified below.

Interested and/or potential small business are requested and encouraged to submit responses to the questions below, not later than 4:00 P.M. Central Time on Tuesday, 11 June 2019.

All correspondence resulting from this RFI and relevant questions shall be sent to Teresa Calavera at teresa.calavera@us.af.mil.

7. Service/Qualifications required:

Medical Materiel Technician tasks include:

a. Inventory Management- Monitor and evaluate inventory. Properly process gains and losses, manage operating inventory, perform counts, research discrepancies, process adjustments, and perform transaction history inquiries. Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards

b. Proficient in Defense Medical Logistics Support System (DMLSS).

c. Demonstrate knowledge of properly handling controlled medical items according to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requirements.

d. Equipment- Demonstrate safe usage and proficiency of all equipment listed in the allowance standards in accordance with (IAW) Air Force Occupational Safety and Health & Occupational Safety Health Association (AFOSH/OSHA) standards, and manufacturer’s guidelines and operator’s manuals.

e. Physically moves materials and uses heavy equipment to move materials such as maneuvering a manual pallet jack and operating a 6k and 13k powered forklift both inside and outside of facilities.

f. Perform casualty movement using North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) litters and gurneys; safe loading and unloading procedures for vehicles in the deployed location to include Modular Ambulance, Highly Mobile Multipurpose Vehicle (HMMWV).

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

a. Shall have a High School Diploma or a General Education Development (GED) and prior experience as a medical materiel technician in a contingency warehouse setting for at least one year.

License and Certification Verification.

a. OSHA Forklift operator certification required. Must obtain forklift operator training within twelve months of hire date.

8. This request for information (RFI) is strictly voluntary and is not to be interpreted as a quote in anticipation of a future contract award.

9. The Government will not notify respondents of the outcome from this RFI. The Contracting Officer will utilize the information for technical and acquisition planning. Please clearly identify all proprietary information. This is a sources sought announcement only and the government will not issue evaluation letters and/or results to the participants. The government will use the information received to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy based on responses indicating capability in responding to this requirement.
