Haas VF7 Vertical Machining Center

F3P3BD8151AW01

1) One Haas VF7 Vertical Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Milling Center with 30hp In-line Direct Drive 40 Taper 15,000rpm spindle. Machine will have 32GB expanded memory, through-tool coolant and high-pressure/flow air to the cutting tooling, belt-type chip conveyor, programmable multi-position coolant nozzle, auxiliary coolant filter system. Additional 4th and 5th axis drives with wiring to accommodate Haas model HRT 210 and Haas model TR310 Rotaries/Indexers. Include a standard 1 year warranty on parts and labor.

2) 310 mm (12.2") Tilting 2-Axis Trunnion Rotary Table

3) Electrical Service to provide a fused disconnect, feed from the disconnect to the machine, and electrical termination inside the machine.

4) One each IUID tag plate

5) Shipping/Delivery/Installation to the 502d Trainer Development Squadron (502 TDS) 660 A West, Hanger 74, JBSA Randolph, 78150. Removal of old machine.

502 TDS, Fabrication Section, needs a new Vertical Machining Center to continue the effective execution of our mission to provide, through the mechanical design, development, fabrication and installation, complex devices used by flying, fighter, air mobility, technical, and aeromedical training ops throughout AETC, AF/DoD, as well as partner Allied Nations (under Foreign Military Sales). To date, TD has invested over in Haas machinery, software, and tooling, to include already owning six (6) Haas Vertical Machining Centers (one of which is at end of life and that this purchase will replace). To make the pieces used to construct aircraft-sized trainers such as the B-1B Armament Systems Trainer, and C-17 Aeromedical Evacuation Trainer, the equipment must be capable of fabricating large and complex components such as bulkheads, formers, frames, and brackets that provide structural strength with dimensional consistency. While other units might be able to make the necessary components, introducing a new brand would incur costs beyond the price of the equipment itself, e.g. in training, in new tooling and accessories, and additional software and after-warranty maintenance. (Phillips services the six machines under separate contract valued over )

Additionally, various brands of machines are configured differently thus it is critical that any replacement machine be able to slot into the footprint left by the machine being replaced.

As confirmed in writing with Haas Automation, Phillips Corporation Federal Division is the sole and exclusive distributor authorized to sell Haas CNC Machine Tools and Haas products to United States Government facilities.

TDS has been using the Haas brand of milling machines since 2005. However TDS will continue to research the market to determine if equipment and technology becomes available that will meet our needs and is compatible with existing equipment.
