QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. The current alarm system operates using how many zones?
Monaco is currently using 8 zones. Identify required additional zones with new system
2. Reference Para 3.2.5 Scope: Does the building have an operational Mass Notification system? How is it zoned?
Are additional Master Microphones required at other entrances or just the main entrance?
No MAS Notification – LOC required at each exit and annunciator at main entrance
3. Please provide the location of existing duct detectors and dampers associated with the building's HVAC System.
Duct detectors located in return air of each AHU; per E-12, E-17 and M-12
4. Please provide drawings that show the location of tamper/flow switches associated with the building's sprinkler system.
Water flow switch in vault room (104)
5. Identify number of secure rooms?
There are no secure rooms; but Commanders section may require escort or coordination
6. Identify number of rooms with boilers?

8. Will the duct work require fire dampers?
The current system does not have fire dampers; only provide detectors per SOW The system will be shut down through detectors/pull stations
9. Will mechanical portions require to be brought to code for life safety?
Portions (fire suppression/detectors/fire) that pertain to SOW
10. Please confirm there are no as-builts?
The floor plans provided are the only ones currently available.
11. Will fire suppression deficiencies be required?
Deficiencies related to the interconnection between the Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression system will be required to be fixed. General deficiencies in the Fire Suppression system out of scope

14. Will Flex conduit in the wall @ pull stations be acceptable?

15. Will a 2nd site visit be scheduled for a Fire Suppression Sub and FPE to attend and assess the building?
There will not be any additional coordinated site visits prior to award of contract.
16. Will it be available for the Gov’t to identify only the rooms where the Fire Suppression is non-compliant?
Per SOW remove/provide new Fire Alarm detection system in its entirety
17. Will this project require any phasing?
Coordination of work will be required and especially for command sections NOTE: Demo of old system ONLY after new system is operational
18. Will the AHU’s on the roof require a Shut Down when the fire alarm is activated?
Yes
19. Will the individual offices and rooms be occupied while we are working in them?
Yes
20. Are we going to be given sections to work in phases?
Question 17: Sections to work can be coordinated ahead of time
21. Are the LOC Panel shown on the drawing to be surface mounted or flush mounted?
Surface Mounted
22. Are the fire alarms pull station flush or surface mounted?
