SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

The following have been added by full text:

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. What key personnel will be required to be onsite during this project?

A: A site supervisor will be within 15 minutes of the site while work is occurring or as needed for scheduled meetings.

2. Will there be any delays when coordinating with the pump house personnel? Are there only certain days that the pump house can be shut down?

A: 1 week. No.

3. Is contractor required to provide a SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan)?

A: yes. If the project site surpasses or likely could come close to one acre in size, the contractor would then be required to comply with the MDEQ Small Construction Notice of Intent (SCNOI) for construction sites 1-5 acres in size.

4. Plans/Specs do not show any erosion control practices such as: Silt Fence, Hay Wattles, Erosion Logs, Inlet

Sediment Traps, ect…

A: While there may not be any plans/specs for erosion and sediment control BMPs, all construction sites where soil disturbance, sanding, painting, and the like at KAFB require sediment/particulate and/or erosion control BMPs. The contractor should include their erosion and sediment control BMPs in their SWPPP.

5. Plans do not show Bell Joint Restraints to for the new 8” C900, but are they required on each sides of fitting & Gate Valves?

A: Bell restraints are not required for the joints, mechanical joint restraints are required on fittings and valves.

6. The detail for bedding of the new waterline does not specify what they want? Is it #57 Stone, Sand?

A: 6” base of #57 stone with sand top around pipe.

7. Will the section of road we are working on be allowed to be shut down the entire length of the contract?

A: Yes, the north bound section of Hercules may be shut down during the length of the contract. The South bound lane should remain open as much as possible in order to limit disturbance to base traffic. Ploesti must remain open at all times.

8. The plans do not show the Magnolia Trees next to Hercules Rd but proposes to install new pipe within the dripline of the tree? Will this be allowed?

FA301018R0015

A: Contractor to minimize disturbances under the drip line. While work is ongoing, equipment and materials should not be stacked under those trees. Also, dirt and debris from the digging should not be piled up near, under, or around the trees to prevent further compaction and damage.
