1. Q. Will we be reusing bricks or restoring the masonry?
a. Yes if possible. If a brick is broken, then the contractor shall match the existing brick in texture and color as close as possible.
2. Q. Will we need to survey for asbestos?
a. There are no reports that reflect that there is asbestos present. Should the contractor encounter anything suspicious, they should immediately stop and call the contracting officer.
3. Q. Which “Stair-nosing” needs to be addressed?
a. All stair nosing is to be replaced.
4. Q. Does the scope of work cover the entire area for all three buildings or will the work be done where needed?
a. The entire area of all 3 buildings.
5. Q. In the specifications Section 010001 - Summary under the scope of work section, it is stated to “remove and replace roofing system to include roof drains.” Nowhere in the drawings are there details or notes pertaining to roofing work.
a. Omit this section. There is no roof work being done on this project.
6. Q. Has the stucco finish, texture, and sealants been tested for the presence of asbestos?
a. There are no reports that reflect that there is asbestos present. Should the contractor encounter anything suspicious, they should immediately stop and call the contracting officer.
7. Q. In the specifications Section 07920 1.1 Summary, it is stated to remove and replace sealant joints, does this include all ceiling to wall joints, wall to floor joints as well?
a. Is the intent of the specification to have ALL joints replaced and sealed.
8. Q. Are we replacing all stair nosing or is there a set amount to be replaced?
a. All stair nosing is to be replaced.
9. Q. The exterior is a hopper sprayed hard coat finish and the new EFIS work will not exactly match existing finish. Will this be acceptable to the Government?
a. The contractor shall make every attempt possible for any new stucco or patches to match the existing finish. A sample stucco finish panel will be required for approval by the Government. Sample should be a minimum size of 2 foot by 3 foot.
10. Q. Some of the buildings currently have work, being performed by other contractors.
Will this work be completed before the buildings are released for this contract?
a. Contractor shall work one facility at a time starting with B2002, then B2003, and lastly B2004. Coordination may be required between contractors on B2004 if required.
11. Q. Will all three buildings be released at the same time for construction, or will one start and be completed before the contractor is released to proceed with the second or third building?
a. See answer 10.
12. Q. What type of roof system is the scope of work calling for?
a. There is no roof work in this project.
