About this file

This document is a Salient Characteristics Sheet for a Key Box that tracks who uses what keys and when. The key box must allow access via PIV card reader, PIN, or fingerprint, have battery backup, soft close-down capabilities, item booking, reason/fault logging, access schedules, and a full audit trail. It must securely store at least 40 keys and be a standalone "plug and play" system with no network, PC, or external connection required.

The related federal contract opportunity is a Sources Sought notice for the same Key Box requirement, issued by the 316th Contracting Squadron, Joint Base Andrews. The government is seeking information from potential offerors on their capability to provide the required Key Box system, lead time, and business size status. Responses are due by June 20, 2024. Based on the responses, the government will determine the appropriate set-aside method for the procurement, but an award will not be made from this notice.
