Oval Mirror
Q&A 25 August 2022
Question 1: The RFQ states that "The oval flat shall be assembled at the contractor facility using a GWEF supplied backing plate and shipped back to the GWEF."
Do you have any information regarding the supplied backing plate and how it is to be secured to this plate? Is it to be tested with the plate?
Answer 1: The backing plate to be provided as GFE by the GWEF is made of aluminum and holds the mirror at a 45 degree facing down. The current mirror was attached to the backing plate using an adhesive. However, I don't have any specifics on the type or how it was applied.
Question 2: The overall dimensions of the mirror are 16.2" x 11.7". x 1". What is the clear aperture?
Answer 2: The clear aperture is defined by the mirror which is currently 90%.
Question 3: Is there a drawing of the backing plate?
Answer 3: See attachment named DrawingBackingPlate.pdf. This 3D PDF may require the user to select the red question mark in the top left and then select the options drop down in the banner to select a trust option to view the 3D file.
