Questions and Answers for FA2823-18-Q-4011 Boom Slope Mower

Question 1- In addition to the polycarbonate safety glass installed on the mower mounted side of the tractor please confirm if are you requesting for expanded steel mesh screening over the side and rear windows and doors and pump?

Answer to Question 1- Yes, the Government is requesting the polycarbonate safety glass installed on the mower mounted side of the tractor and steel mesh on the cab and windows and ( sweeps from the cab to the front hood should be included in this package) Guard for front mounted hydraulic pump.

Question 2- Please clarify what tread design tire will work since there are so many different styles considered rough duty. What is your planned general application use?

Answer to Question 2- TR-Forest tires will meet the Governments requirements http://www.nokianheavytyres.com/tyres/tyre/nokian-tr-forest/

If you are driving over sharp rocks, tree stumps, clay, mud, sand, etc. the

Nokian TR Forest bias tire sizes 13.6 x 24" front and 18.4 x 34" rear are a good choice.

Question 3- Please confirm if legal road width required and if so you will consider a

Deere 6120E or New Holland T6.120?

Answer to Question 3- The Government must have a rear mounted boom the Deere 6120E and the New

Holland T6.120 will not meet this hard set requirement. The Government understands the tractor width of the 6120M. A side storage boom will make any tractor much wider than a rear storage second break away boom requiring a special state permit while moving the mower by trailer as a rear storage system will not require an additional permit. We are not requesting a smaller tractor, simply a rear mounted storage system while the boom on the mower is not in use. Please refer to weight/Tractor frame requirements. A secondary boom break away and rear carrying dual bracket mounted directly to the right and left of the rear of the tractor for rear (compact) storage of the mower is required for transport on a trailer on public roadways.

Question 4- Delivery can be quoted up to 150 days ARO subject to tractor availability. Is there a delivery requirement in your solicitation?

Answer to Question 4- Yes there is a delivery requirement in this solicitation. The solicitation specifies a delivery time of 90 days after contract award and this is what the Government prefers. The Government understand the manufacturing request of this requirement and will accept a 150 day delivery schedule.
