About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for Area of Interest 02 (AOI 02) of the OTTI Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) solicitation FA2553-25-S-C001 for the U.S. Space Force.

The document provides technical details about the current deployment environment and requirements for proposed solutions. The existing architecture is a cloud-based tenancy utilizing host-provided services, with enterprise data storage, data in-transit capabilities, and visualization software. The deployment occurs in a Linux RHEL8 OpenStack environment within a hosted cloud space, with RHEL8 workstations. Solutions must interface with back-end functions including various Apache, Linux, and Windows applications, which will be provided as Government Furnished Information (GFI). The main focus is augmenting existing range control software for the orbital range that provides command and control and data fusion/visualization of terrestrial sensors. The current solution uses multiple programming languages including Python, Java, and .NET. Successful proposers will have full access to code and subject matter experts through the government program office, and current systems will be provided as GFE with defined interfaces.

Question Number Question Answer

AOI 02 - Q01 What is the current deployed architecture that proposed solutions must interface with?

The current deployed architecture is a cloud-based tenancy utilizing many host-provided services. It includes enterprise data storage, data in-transit capabilities, and visualization software. Communication between components occurs via various technologies such messaging (pub/sub), web sockets, and APIs.

AOI 02 - Q02 What existing software (including commercial software apps) must the solution interact with: fielded and in development?

The solution must work with the back-end functions within the tenancy, these specific interfaces will be provided as GFI during contract execution. These include, but are not limited to, various Apache, Linux, and Windows applications.

AOI 02 - Q03 What is the deployment environment (on-prem, cloud, hybrid)?

The deployment occurs in a Linux RHEL8 OpenStack environment within a hosted cloud space.

Additionally, RHEL8 workstations are included and may require additional configuration to support deployments.

AOI 02 - Q04 Are there classified mission systems currently in use that solutions must work in/with? Yes.

AOI 02 - Q05 What languages are used in current solutions? The current solution utilizes a variety of programming languages. These include, but are not limited to, Python, Java, .NET, and others.

AOI 02 - Q06 Will successful proposers have full access to code and SMEs? Yes, coordinated through the government program office.

AOI 02 - Q07 Will current systems be provided as GFE with defined interfaces? Yes, current systems and defined interfaces will be provided.

AOI 02 - Q08 Is there a preferred interface/architecture for proposed software deliveries? There is not a preferred interface/architecture, each enhancement would be solution specific.

AOI 02 - Q09 What is the main focus of AOI 02? This effort supports augmentation to the existing range control software for the orbital range which provides command and control and data fusion/visualization of terrestrial sensors.
