Buckley SFB Dormitory Mattress Replacement Sources Sought Q&A 30 January 2024

· How many stories? How many total rooms and room types?

· See statement of need

· Will the buildings be occupied? If they are occupied, is there any way to temporarily place guests in another building on base? What is the estimated occupancy rate during the requested time of install?

· Yes, the buildings will be occupied.

· No, we cannot temporarily place guests in another building.

· Estimated occupancy would be over 90% over the next couple months.

· Will there be Removal & Disposal of furniture, can you provide a location within proximity of the base that can be used for disposal?

· Disposal location of the mattresses will be at contractor discretion.

· If a dumpster is required to be included in our installation services, please provide a clear understanding of placement, to the closest proximity to building(s).

· The back side of the buildings have large open spaces that can fit a dumpster right outside the doors, keeping travel time from the lobby to the dumpsters at a minimum.

· Does the base have storage on site for installer use? If so, please provide a clear understanding of proximity to building requiring installation. If not, please provide a clear understanding of placement, closest to the proximity to building(s).

· We do not have storage on site for installers to access and use.

· There is space in the back of the buildings that can house a trailer.

· What are the delivery/installation hours?

· 0700-1600. We do not want the installation to happen after work hours where dorm management cannot supervise.

· Is there unencumbered access for a 53’ trailer/truck to deliver product? If not, provide a location of where the delivery truck can park during unloaded, at a location closest to building.

· Yes, a delivery truck can fit in the back of both buildings.

· Are the installers able to have full access to elevators or to stairs only?

· See statement of need

· Is there a required time to start this project?

· Is there a required time frame to have work completed within?

· See statement of need.

· You state Each mattress will have at least a 460 coil count it can be more correct?

· It can be more, as long as it fits the TwinXL size measurements.

· Do you have a picture of what you might be looking for in a mattress?

· See PDF examples of mattresses that the government has looked at.

· Does the 3" thick upholstery include the springs or not?

· No

· What mattress depth/height are you looking for?

· Anything between 9-12” would be fine.

· Would the procurement consider alternatives?

· What alternatives?
