FROM: 21 CONS/LGCZ

SUBJECT: FA2523-12-R-0006, Thule Base Maintenance Contract, Site Visit
Information
1. It is the Government’s intention to hold a site visit at Thule Air Base (AB), Greenland on the 29 Aug, 2013 thru the 04 Sep, 2013. The government is contemplating a second site visit to be scheduled for the end of September/beginning of October time frame primarily for those individuals not allowed to travel on the currently planned site visit due to space availability. Presently, the site visit planned for the 29 Aug – 04 Sep is the only site visit scheduled and all interested parties are encouraged to attend. The Government reserves the right to hold additional site visits should the contracting officer deem it necessary; presently there are no plans for future site visits.
2. Two routes are available for interested parties to travel to Thule AB (detailed in the table below). Due to limited availability of seats of the aircraft with the Point of Origin from Denmark, the Government requests that anyone traveling from the United States utilize the aircraft with the Point of Origin from United States. This will help to ensure the maximum numbers of participants are able to attend the Site Visit.

3. Lodging at Thule AB is available. Rates are $42.00 per room per night. All rooms have one queen bed and share a community bathroom/shower. Dining options consist of the Base Restaurant (priced at $8.30 per person per day) and the Top of the World (TOW) Club (prices vary based upon ordered fare). Transportation during the Site Visit will be provided; no rental vehicles will be available. Interested parties will be escorted at all times by US Government personnel during the Site Visit activities. US currency is used at Thule AB. The North Star In will accept Master Card or Visa Cards. Cash is needed to purchase a “meal card” for use at the Base Restaurant. There are not any ATMs at Thule AB. BX allows cash back on debit cards up to $50.
4. Due to airlift seat limitations, site visit attendance will be limited initially to one person per contractor. Joint ventures and partnerships count as one contractor for the purpose of the site visit attendance limit. Contractor’s may provide the names of up to two additional individuals, ranked in order of priority, who may attend should additional aircraft seating become available. If additional seating becomes available, the Government will first assign seats to all contractor priority 1 individuals, then all contractor priority 2 individuals will be next. If there is not sufficient seating to meet all requested priority 1 individuals seats, then the Government will not make any additional seats available. The same system will be in place for priority 2 personnel.
