Brief Description: The USAF Radiochemistry Laboratory requires ten programmable multi-position hot plates for Mass Spectroscopy chemistry that meets stringent size and capabilities for mission operations within the laboratory for sample analysis with an increased production rate.

Salient Characteristics: AFTAC Radiochemistry Laboratory Programmable, Multi-position Hot Plates Salient Characteristics The USAF Radiochemistry Laboratory requires ten programmable multi-position hot plates for Mass Spectroscopy chemistry that meets stringent size and capabilities for mission operations within the laboratory for sample analysis with an increased production rate. The model suggested (Torrey Pines Scientific HS65) has been thoroughly tested and fits the mission requirements for sample preparation for digestion chemistry. Though different models had some of the features we need for the mission, only one product had all of the features required for the chemistry steps:

Torrey Pines Scientific Hot Plate Model HS65 programmable multi-position stirring hot plates (Or Equal) a.) multi-position stirring capability (5 positions up to 800 mL), b.) each position must be capable of pre-programmed, savable routines.

c.) The 115VAC model works with our building power specifications.

d.) Each position must have the same speed or each at a separate speed, 10-program memory stored in CMOS, e.) no batteries required, f.) each program can be 10 steps, where each step includes a temperature, stirring speed, time and heating rate, g.) timer goes up to 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds with user settable Auto-Off.

h.) Dimensions 12.5 inches wide by 18 inches deep and 4.5 inches tall.
