About this file
This document appears to be a description of salient characteristics for Perfluoroalkoxy alkane (PFA) vials required by the USAF Radiochemistry Laboratory for mass spectrometry chemistry. The key details include:
The laboratory requires various PFA vials with lids that meet stringent trace metal contamination levels and are resistant to strong corrosive chemicals. The vials must be resistant to melting, leaking, and degradation when in contact with corrosive chemicals. Specific vial sizes are required, including 7 mL, 15 mL, and 22 mL volumes, with associated dimensions. The laboratory also requires black marking pens capable of writing on the PFA vials without smudging.
This requirement is associated with a pre-solicitation for Perfluoroalkoxy alkane (PFA) vials, solicitation number FA252124QB141, issued by the Department of the Air Force Space Command.

AFTAC Radiochemistry Laboratory PFA Vial Salient Characteristics
The USAF Radiochemistry Laboratory requires various Perfluoroalkoxy alkance (PFA) vials with lids for Mass Spectroscopy chemistry that meets stringent trace metal contaminate levels and are resistant to strong corrosive chemicals. Resistance to melting, leaking, non-degraded vials in corrosive chemical contact.
Round bottom, Perfluoroalkoxy alkance (PFA) vials in the following volumes with associated lids that meet ultra-low background levels of trace metals, specifically Uranium. PFA is resistant to strong corrosive chemicals. Require black marking pens (quantity 10) capable of writing on PFA vials without smudging.
-Volume 7 mL dimensions must be 37.1 mm tall by 27.4 mm wide including cap
-Volume 15 mL dimensions must be 41.4 mm tall by 36.3 mm wide including cap
-Volume 22 mL dimensions 56.1 mm tall by 36.3 mm wide including cap
