Q&A For Chem Feeder Solicitation Q1: The RFQ specifies the Neptune VTFC-2 Plus a Cartridge Filter. “FC” represents “Filter Cartridge” in Neptune nomenclature. The Neptune Model VTF-2 does not accept a cartridge filter. It does accept a bag filter holder and bag filter. (Same 20micron rating). In order to utilize the Cartridge Filters, the unit would need to be a DBFC-2. In general, bag filters are far more common than cartridge filters.
A: The salient features of chemical feeders include support for a cartridge filter and a requirement for high temperature cartridge spare filters. We prefer cartridge replacements for our preventive maintenance program and filtration of heating and chilled water systems. We do not want the Neptune VTFC model specifically, an “or equal” model works fine. We do want the model to be compatible with filters, however.
Q2: Building 863 was added to the SOW, does this mean both the heating and chilled water systems?
A: The Bldg 863 heating water system chemical feeder was added to the scope, but not the chilled water system chemical feeder.
