DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE

21st CONTRACTING SQUADRON (AFSPC)

2 July 2018

MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

FROM: 21 CONS/PKAB

SUBJECT: FA2517-18-Q-5022, PAFB Chemical Water Treatment; Amendment 1, Questions and Answers

Q: Will the contractor or the Government remove the glycol barrels from site? If the contractor removes the glycol barrels, what procedures for removal?

A: Per paragraph 1.5 contract shall remove glycol barrels that were used to perform work, and not barrels of glycol used by the shop. Follow the local, state and federal requirements.

Q: How many buildings will require permission to perform work?

A: If this is in reference to unfunded paragraph 1.2.3, this will vary as problems are uncovered by the water treatment contract and HVAC Shop. It is 5 buildings this past year, but none the year prior.

Q: What company is currently supplying the chemical products?

A: Currently, our HVAC Shop orders Garratt-Callahan chemicals through our supply system.

Q: What company is currently performing the ‘Service Only’ portion of the contract?

A: Currently, Airgo as a prime contractor with Garratt-Callahan as a subcontractor is performing work.

Q: Is there a service contract in place currently?

A: There currently is a service contract in place.

Q: Is there a specific reason why one vendor cannot supply product and service for this contract as opposed to using and disposing a competitor’s product (Chemical)?

A: We typically have chemicals stockpiled from year to year, so we find it preferable to order and have contractor use as needed. We are not locked into one vendor on supply product purchases.
