2. Background

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Tactical Data Networks (TDN) Lab on Hanscom AFB have on-going needs that require us to be flexible and ready to support innovative initiatives on short notice. This software enables review of data captured and viewed on a large viewing area suitable for lab demonstrations, evaluations, and test result outputs. Currently in HNAE we have an older version of the BOSS which requires an upgrade, and the additional system will enable larger evaluations and enhance MAJCOM exercises.

Tactical Communication Group (TCG) Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS) operating software: A comprehensive, high-fidelity, standards-based Tactical Data Link (TDL) simulation capability critical for testing and validating TDL platform integrations, and operations. BOSS supports a variety of Department of Defense (DoD) message format, such as Link 22, Link 16, Link 11, VMF, CESMO, Cursor-on-Target, SADL, JREAP-A, JREAP-C, Serial-J, DIS, SIMPLE, AIS, ADS-B, and GPS data links, and protocols.

AFLCMC/HNAE is seeking information on how to best support these capabilities, as described below, most seamlessly integrate with the existing software suite:

TDN Lab Refresh requires software and hardware for test and evaluation of gateway platforms and future communications packages being developed with HNA. Tactical Communications Group (TCG) Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS) is the industry’s most complete, reliable, easy-to-use, and cost-effective Tactical Data Links (TDL) testing and platform integration solution on the market that provides support for multiple terminals and interfaces and adheres to industry data link standards.
