Questions

On CLIN 0006 – 8’ x10’ Manager Cubicle:

Question 1a: Do you have a preferred finish for the walls? Standard walls come in vinyl or laminate. Will those standard finish options be acceptable or would you like steel with paint?

Answer: We will have a color preference for the walls, but the standard finishes, vinyl and laminate, are acceptable.

Question 1b: One of CLIN 0006 already has 2 drywall walls in it and the other has one. Do you want both of the offices to be completely freestanding with four walls or should we just include enough walls to enclose the space for a four wall office?

(ie - 2 drywall and 2 modular wall for one office and 1 drywall and 3 modular for the second office or both offices to have 4 modular walls?)

Answer: We only need the walls required to enclose the office.

ELECTRICAL THROUGHOUT:

Question 2: Your specifications request 10 Wire – 4 Circuit electrical system. The standard

Haworth electrical that we use that offers a separate neutral for each circuit to meet the Tinker base standard is an 8 wire- 3 circuit system. Each power whip will power four workstations per the Tinker Base Standard for the electrical requirements and all of the outlets are field programmable to be Circuit 1, Circuit 2 or Circuit 3 and have We have Circuit 1 dedicated for computers and designated with orange triangle on the face. Will this be acceptable?

Answer:

We require a 10-wire configuration (4H, 4N, 2G) for the systems furniture. This is a special use area that is not related to common furniture installations on TAFB. Each cubicle will have 4 circuits. We have provided a layout showing exactly where power poles and associated “whips” need to be located. We have asked for the whips to have 10 feet of length after they leave the top of the power pole. Electrical connections to building power will be done by the government (connection in the J-Box).

It is also important to note that we have asked for a 2 inch by 8 inch (minimum dimensions), divided power pole.

Attached is the previously provided power pole layout. It also shows the locations of all

J-boxes in the ceiling. Power pole locations are shown in RED (See attachment

9001_E45_PowerPoleLocations.pdf’).

Question 3: Can we bid a brand other that Haworth if it is a typical alternate?

Answer: No, we are attempting to match the furniture style in our other admin areas.

Question 4: This solicitation has us bidding CLINS for this job. When we bid the CLINS how do we bid the dis- assemble of existing product for removal?

Answer: There is no dis-assembly required. The space is newly constructed.

Question 5: Will there be any replacement of carpet and painting or other construction prior to final installation?

Answer: The site is currently under construction, but will be ready for furniture by the installation start date. No painting or carpet work is required of the vendor.

Question 6: The electrical supplied by us to the power poles and power feeds will have to be connected to the building power by whom? Typically we have the base CE arrange for the location of the building power back to the panel. Installed by a base contract electrician. We handle all electrical within the panels.

Answer: Electrical connections to building power will be made by the government. The vendor is responsible for providing a “whip” that extends 10 feet beyond the top of the power pole. Power pole locations are identified in a previously provided layout.

Question 7: Who handles the installation of the data and telecom wiring in the panels?

Answer: The base comm contractor will handle all data wiring.

Question 8: Is the design on the floorplan shown on the layout final or will the final design change?

Answer: The design is final, but may be adjusted to accommodate the actual furniture that will be installed.

Question 9: Will the CLIN pricing be the final contract price or will it be based on the final

BOM and layout with design and take down.

Answer: Because this is a Firm Fixed Price contract, the total CLIN price provided will be the final contract price. Take-Down is not required.
