STATEMENT OF WORK
FOR
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM FOR
KARDEX REMSTAR SYSTEMS
1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES/GENERAL INFORMATION. The contractor shall furnish the materials and perform the labor necessary for the completion of the Preventive Maintenance Program on the Kardex Remstar Horizontal Carousel Systems:

The following specifications outline requirements for the preventive maintenance program for the Kardex Remstar Horizontal Carousel Systems:
2. INSPECTION REPORT. Services to be performed by authorized factory-trained technicians:
a. Check carousel unit for plumbness.
b. Check upper and lower support column holder and set screws, tighten as needed.
c. Check support base for loose hardware, tighten as needed.
d. Check upper track to ensure level condition.
e. Check bottom track:
1. Make sure it is securely fastened and has not moved up or down.
2. Check that the lower guide wheels ride in center.
3. Check that each carousel is shimmed properly on each end or tight position.
f. Check tubular track auto-lube device:
1. Check mounting hardware, adjust as needed.
2. Fill reservoir.
3. Check for proper flow rate.
g. Check top chain links for wear, tightness and bending mounting hardware.
h. Check carriers and carrier brackets:
1. Check tightness of hardware.
2. Level brackets as needed.
3. Check carrier shelves to ensure they are locked in place.
i. Check lower guide wheels:
1. Check for cracked or missing wheels.
2. Check for damaged or missing hardware.
j. Check yoke assemblies with chin pins and components for loose, cracked, worn or missing parts:
1. Replace and return pin/ring as needed.
2. Lubricate ring.
k. Check lower chain and chain links:
1. Check for loose or missing hardware.
2. Check for scraping between links and brackets.
3. Check for damaged or broken guide wheels, replace as needed.
4. Lubricate guide wheel bushings.
5. Check for 1/8" to 1/4" clearance between guide wheel and track at radius end.
6. Check chain link for warping or bending (too tight).
l. Chain assembly - adjust as needed:
1. Check tension of upper chain assembly.
2. Check tension of lower chain assembly.
m. Check gear reducer; S.M. Cyclo:
1. Check for loose mounting hardware.
2. Apply NLG#2 grease in grease fitting located at high speed end of unit.
n. Check drive motors:
1. Check for loose mounting hardware.
2. Check for loose wire connections.
o. Check Motor Control Unit (MCU):
1. Check for dust and dirt, blow or vacuum clean as needed
2. Check for loose r damaged wires and connections.
3. Change dust filter.
4. Check cooling fan for proper operation.
5. Check for smooth start/stop and accurate parameter settings.
6. Check E-stop system.
7. Check F-stop system.
p. Check RCC:
1. Check for dust and dirt, blow or vacuum clean as needed.
2. Check for loose or damaged connections.
q. Check runtime hours.
r. Check power-on hours.
s. Check number of cycles.
3. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, LABOR AND DISCOUNTED PARTS PROGRAM.
a. Two scheduled service inspections per year.
b. Covers 100% of all labor service charges for repairs.
c. 25% discount for all parts required as a result of normal wear and tear. Does not include operator error or misuse.
