Response to Indoor Playground Relocation Questions 7/15/2021

1. Can there be an organized site visit before the offeror due date for this project? We have a representative ready to view the site. Site visit can be scheduled for 19 July 2021 @ 09:00 hrs. The representative will meet at 206 J Ave. Bldg. 1662 at Sheppard AFB, TX @ 08:30 hrs. to receive a briefing before proceeding to the site. If the representative does not already have base access, they are to arrive at the Sheppard AFB Visitor Center at 08:15 hrs. and dial (940) 676-5192 for assistance in accessing the base.

2. If there is not site visit, will there be pictures of the equipment posted on Sam.gov? Site visit will be conducted on 19 July 2021.

3. The drawings provided are not detailed enough and does not explain where the relocation will

be. Are there more drawings that help plan on where the new location is and how each equipment will be set? Please see the following specs:

Playground Footprint: 44’ (13.41M); 44’-10’ (13.66m) Play Equipment Height: 14’-3 ½” (4.36m) Surfacing: 1891 SQ FT; 175 SQ M

Additional drawings will be provided.

4. Is the playground equipment bolt into the ground under the rubber tiles? No.

5. The rubber tiles on ground where the playground equipment is located, once the equipment is removed, is the contractor responsible for repairing the floor after removing the bolts in the ground?

No, there are no ground bolts.

6. When removing the playground equipment, the rubber tiles will be removed around the bolted areas of the playground equipment. When removing the rubber tiles, is there an area to put a dumpster? The matting around the supports will have to be removed, but the rubber tiles will remain intact. The zipties will have to be cut and disposed of and there is a dumpster available, new zipties will have to be used to replace all that are cut.

7. After removing all the playground equipment, is the contractor responsible for storing the playground equipment? Yes, the contractor can store the disassembled pieces in Building 960 as needed as they move the equipment. We would like the contractor to disassemble and reassemble immediately.

8. The playground equipment has steel nuts and bolts to hold each piece together (stripping bolts). What are regulations from hardware damaging while dismantling playground equipment?

Damaged equipment should be replaced with new like items.

9. Is there a specific schedule when relocating the playground equipment? This will help us determine if we must store all the equipment or immediately relocate the equipment. The new location is an active construction site, coordination with the other main construction contractor will be required before beginning the project, but once started, we expect the disassembly and reassembly to occur immediately.

10. Is the contractor responsible for storing the playground equipment if the schedule for installing the playground equipment is at a later date? We would like disassembly and reassembly to occur simultaneously.

11. Do you want the playground to be in the same layout as before or in a different layout? The drawings will show the specific layout of the playground, how the playground is assembled now, and how it should be assembled in the new space. The orientation should be on the drawings.

12. Are there any details on installing the playground equipment in the new location? N/A

13. If the new area does not have rubber tiles or any type of fall protection, what type of fall protection padding do you want for the new location? Please give the brand or specific supplier. The fall protection padding around the playground should be reused when it reassembled. We do not have make/model/manufacturer of the fall protection material.
