1.0 Description
1.1. The 411th Contracting Support Brigade(411th CSB) in support of the 51st Civil Engineer Squadron (51st CES) is seeking information on how an interested contractor could provide calibration services for LMP 2000/3000 trace gas monitors.
1.2. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Airforce is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement.
2.0 Background
1.1. The LMP 2000/3000 is a Trace Gas Monitor manufactured by Lagus Applied Technology, Inc.
The Tracer Gas Monitor is an instrument for sampling and measuring tracer gas used to challenge High Efficiency Gas Adsorber (HEGA) filter stage and M98 filter banks. This is accomplished by utilizing a measurement-specific electron capture gas chromatograph optimized for the detection of a selected tracer gas such as Vertrel. A challenge of Vertrel is injected into the airstream upstream of the filter adsorber bank through the qualified injection port of manifold. The Tracer Gas Monitors are used to measure upstream and downstream concentrations of the filter bank. The filter adsorber bank leak rate is determined from the ratio of downstream to upstream concentrations. ECBC use the LAMP 2000/3000 currently at Aberdeen Proving Ground and at site to test the leakage of our HEGA and M98 filters in our filter systems worldwide. Any leakage would allow contamination to pass through the filter system and into the atmosphere, which could cause a catastrophic event.
