Consolidated Q&A as of 5 Dec 2022

Questions submitted on 14 Nov 2022

The items requested for Bldg 812 include 8 - 6' x 8' cube workstations for Room 1 and 7 - 6' x 8' cube workstations for Room 2? These should be designed/set up according to the typicals set forth in Attachment 1. Please confirm that this is correct.

The floorplan layout will be uploaded to amend the current solicitation, once it is posted, we will let your team know.

Is a floor layout of Room 1 and Room 2 available to send to our vendor partners/designer?

Refer to the floorplan that will be uploaded.

Is the site visit required?

Yes, the site visit is required.

Please provide floor plans for the two rooms at B812. The current Attachment 1 only has typical station requirements.

The floorplan will be updated to the current solicitation. We will inform your team once it is posted.

Is it acceptable to not include panels at the walls of the rooms to provide access to existing electrical and data at the walls?

Yes. It is acceptable.

I am reviewing the bid that came out last week and noticing that the floorplan for CES is missing. The attachment inside of that are all the previous CLIN workstations from the old BPA for modular furniture. It just shows 1 of each of the old style typical workstation groups.

The floorplan of the actual CES building 812 is not included. Usually there is a drawing of the actual space along with a breakdown of the products needed to complete the bid. (apples to apples).

Seems like quite of bit of information is missing.

Could you double check to make sure all the information is listed for the bid.

The floorplan for the building will be uploaded and amend the current solicitation. We will update you once it is posted. Thanks

Is there a requirement to provide electrical wiring?

There will be requirement to provide electrical wiring.

Will existing cubicles need to be removed?

Existing cubicles are not needed to be removed.

Can you provide the room dimensions / layout?

The room dimensions and layouts will be updated when the amendment is posted to the current solicitation. We will inform your team when it is posted.

Questions Submitted on 22 Nov 2022

Drawings show height adjustable desks. Are those required?

Height adjustable is NOT required.

Do the slider doors need to lock?

No, nice to have.

During the walkthrough, comments were made that the stations all need to be identical. Per the drawing, Room 3 stations are U-Shape and Room 2 station are L-shape. Is there a preference for layout or do we bid according to the drawing?

All desks need to be U-Shape and identical.

In regards to the identical stations, if we make all the stations U-shape, Room 2 will only fit 6 stations vs the 8 stations designed. Is that ok?

It’s NOT acceptable, we need 8 Workstations. The layout could be modified if need it.

Questions Submitted on 28 Nov 2022

Do you require two overhead storage units per station (total of 15 U shaped stations) as shown on the attached.

Yes

R2 shows 8 stations but the text box requests 7 and R1 shows 7 stations but the text box requests

8. Are the total number of stations per room to be swapped?

We need 7 desks on R-1(35’-6” x 15’-11” room and 8 desks on R-2(27’-7” x 29’-11” room).

If 7/8 U-shape stations won't fit in R2 would you consider L shaped as shown on the plan provided?

All desks are required to be identical therefore U-shaped. Layout can be modified if needed.

I see this is a set aside for small business. Per FAR 19.505 will you allow a waiver to the nonmanufacturer rule (NMR)?

FAR 19.505 will not be applied to this requirement as it is not within the applicability (Requirement is under SAT).

Do we need to provide an electrician to attach the systems furniture whips to building power or will this work be completed by others?

Yes, you will require a license electrician.

If we are to provide an electrician, do we need to pull new circuits from the electrical panel or will we attach to existing power at walls/columns?

You can attach to existing power at walls in the rooms.

I was about to submit our proposal for this project and found out that there are poles on the sample image provided. I understand that we will provide the power posts, but are electricals part of the installation?

I just wanted to know because it will be an additional cost to have an electrician put them together.

Also, is it possible to extend the due date, as the holidays made it hard to put up the quotation and layouts because a lot of people were out on a holiday.

Electrical is part of the installation. We will coordinate with Comm for the data.

Also, Amendment 02 has been posted to extend the Q&A and Offer Due Date. Please refer to the SAM.gov solicitation: F3G3CA2298AW01 99 CES/CEI Modular Furniture.

Questions submitted on 29 Nov 2022

We have performed work on the base in the past and just came across this solicitation.

Are we able to schedule a site visit so we can extend an offer?

Please advise if acceptable as we missed the 11/17 walk.

There will be no additional site survey. However, you may still ask questions and provide a quote before the due date.

Questions Submitted on 30 Nov 2022

On the sample image of the cubicles, there are two power poles on room 3 and one on room 2.

Are these the same location where the power poles should be or its just a plain sample image? If not, please indicate where and how many poles are on the room.

There are no poles in room 1 now. The room 2 does have pole but it's just for data.

In addition, the I just wanted to verify the dimensions of the 6' x 8' U-shaped workstation. The height adjustable table is 3' deep, the stationary is 2' deep and the bridge table is 3' wide, making the center 8', correct?

That is correct but the tables don’t need to be height adjustable.

The disposal of current furniture on those rooms, are they to be relocated into a different room, like a storage unit? Or total disposal? If total disposal, is the government going to provide the dumpster for them?

The disposal of current furniture is not required.

Do we have to make the connections for the power poles, or the government will take care of that? And that the electrical components that are integrated to the workstation is the contractor's responsibility?

Yes, the government will not be involved on this project. The contractor is responsible for the workstation’s electrical components.

Is this applicable with the L-workstation as well? That one side is not necessarily a height adjustable one?

There are NO L-Shape workstations since they all must be identical therefore U-Shaped.

None of the workstations need to be height adjustable.

File details come from the government source that posted it. Updated .
