Amn Johnson, The answers to your questions are below.
How is the contractor supposed to pack the old tents for return to base supply? Are there going to be crates provided by base supply? Is base supply going to pick them up?
The NSN, Date of manufacture, and contract number from each individual tent will be recorded by the contractor. Tents will be palletized and banded.
At least 3 tents per pallet. Base supply and base transportation will arrange logistics.
What are good dates to begin and complete work so that it does not conflict with military training?
Exact dates cannot be coordinated at this time but most work can be accomplished by the contractor whether training is being conducted or not.
If training interferes, an more time should be added to contractor deadline.
How are the contractors supposed to find out if all of the parts have been ordered for the tents? Furthermore, how are the contractors supposed to bid if Maxwell does not have all of the items necessary to complete the contract? (conflicts with part 4.2 of the statement of work)
Line 4.2. should probably read that "the government is responsible for supplying all tent parts. Any missing parts will be ordered at government expense and contractor will be responsible for constructing any remaining tents when parts are received. Overall contract will not extend beyond 1 Jan 2010."
An order has been placed and most has been received. As long as no one got into them, the parts should be all there.
