Questions and Answers:

Note: in clarifying #12 on the specifications sheet please submit a total of two bids;

Quote one will encompass all requirements with an Outdoor enclosure, 400A, 4 pole, Service entrance rated, Quote two will encompass all requirements with an Outdoor enclosure, 400A, 3 pole, non-service entrance rated

Question #1; In the specs for this generator, #6 calls for auto start and transfer upon loss of utility power. This will require an auto transfer switch, usually sized to utility service amperage. Do you want a quote on ATS? Or just the generator capability to start upon signal from ATS?

Answer #1 Please see answer #2 and #3

Question #2: Also, I need to know if the transfer switch is automatic or manual

Answer #2: Automatic

Question #3 #4 White Sands New Mexico is listed at 5,700 feet and impacts the rating of the Generator. This needs to be included in your performance #8 We use a calculator to determine voltage dip and your parameters are a bit incomplete. Here is what is needed: Type of Load ie Motor Load, UPS Load, lighting load? I assumed a motor load with a 170 Amp inrush and a 50 amp running load (could be smaller) #12 Any old ATS that matches the generator is probably going to get you the wrong one. Please Clarify the following: Type of Enclosure (outdoor or Indoor) Size of ATS (100KW @ 208 = 347 so I would choose a 400 Amp size from your request) Number of Poles (3 or 4 pole typically decided by Code) Service Entrance Rated or not (again determined by code) I think everyone will understand that you will need some of the basic sundries such as block heater, battery charger, batteries etc etc.

Answer #3: #4. We specced 100kW at sea level as we'll be operating at multiple altitudes, and 100kW at sea level allows us to operate even at the highest altitude we'll be at with power to spare.

#8. It is a mixed load. There's will be some UPS backups as well as a 60 ton chiller.

#12. Outdoor enclosure, 400A, 4 pole, Service entrance rated. I'd also like a quote for 400A, 3 pole, non-service entrance rated. I'll then run em by management and a couple of my electricians.

Question #4 HOW WAS THE PF OF .4 DETERNINED AND CAN YOU TELL ME THE APPLICATION,,,THIS PF IS UNUSUAL. Is this a prime power or standby application. Normal commercial products are at a .8 pf. To meet this means you will be requiring a larger generator set. Is this your purpose. In most cases, the addition of a PMG will meet the surge load and voltage drop. Also, WHAT STYLE OF ENCLOSURE IS DESIRED FOR THE ATS, NEMA 1, NEMA3 OR OTHERS.

Answer #4 PF of .4 and the voltage drop was determined by looking at a generator of the type and class we're looking for our application and seeing how they rated/specced surge currents, as we hadn't written such a spec before. This is a standby power application.

Enclosure needs to be outdoor rated, capable of withstanding the same environmental conditions as the generator.
