Past Performance Subfactor 3 (Quality) Questionnaire
1) What geophysical phenomena do you observe with the system (aurora, airglow, etc.)
2) Do you run the system for long periods in automated mode? If so,
a) How often do you have to reboot, power cycle, or otherwise manually intervene to maintain data collection?
b) Does the filter wheel reliably turn to the correct slot as commanded and with the proper timing? Have you had to maintain or repair the filter wheel or controls?
c) How many frames can you take before the shutter needs maintenance?
d) Does the light protection sensor promptly trigger shutter closure to prevent exposure to bright light?
e) How many hours per month/year do you typically run the system?
f) Have you had any difficulties getting the detector to cool to the specified level, or the vacuum chamber leaking?
3) How often do you ship the system, and has it generally survived shipping intact when properly packed?
4) Does the system chassis provide adequate mechanical support and alignment of components, or does the system need an optical bench or similar external structure for support?
5) What is the estimated minimum light level, in Rayleighs, you feel your system can usefully observe?
