About this file

This document is a set of questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity for fall protection safety railings and accessories.

The key details are that the government is procuring a fall protection system known as SafetyRail 2000 for multiple mission buildings at the New Boston Space Force Station. The Statement of Work (SOW) specifies that the safety rails must be manufactured by BlueWater, and the Brand Name Justification indicates this is the only acceptable brand. The government has confirmed that only the BlueWater manufactured safety rails can be supplied, and no substitutions from other manufacturers will be accepted even if they meet the specifications. The contract opportunity is being solicited by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base.

Question Government Response/Answer

According to the SOW, the government is requesting safety rails manufactured by Blue water manufacturing. Can safety rails from another manufacturer be supplied if it meets all specifications of Bluewater manufacturing safety rails?

The SOW only requests the Brand Name manufactured by BlueWater. Also on the solicitation on SAM.gov it also contains the Brand Name Justification (BNJ) which specifies that the Government is looking to buy safety rails manufactured by BlueWater.
