About this file
This is a Department of Defense memorandum dated 13 July 2026 establishing salient characteristics for a required component to support F-22A aircraft operations. The document specifies requirements for a Quick Disconnect Coupling Half (NSN: 4730-00-600-1758) needed to complete and install an Oil Service Widget on all F-22A airframes. The coupling half is a male component with the following critical specifications: 3.0-inch overall length, 3A thread class at all ends with 0.875-inch thread size, UNF thread series, 37.0-degree seat angle, 0.625-inch outside diameter tube accommodation, spring push-lock quick disconnect method with flared connection style at all ends, 0.750-inch leg length, internal quick disconnect connection type with threaded external tube first fluid end connection, safety locking and self-sealing features, and aluminum alloy or stainless-steel body with anodized surface treatment.
The coupling half serves as a critical component for a portable oil container/dispenser system that enables F-22A aircraft operators to service aircraft oil in austere locations without maintenance support infrastructure. This capability ensures aircraft remain mission-ready in divert landing scenarios and supports the U.S. Air Force's ability to project air power. The memorandum functions as a technical requirements document establishing the specifications that contractors must meet when providing this component for procurement under contract 673 CONS.

15. Thread Series Designator: UNF all ends
2. The items listed above will be a crucial part for a portable Oil container/dispenser inside F022A aircraft allowing the operator to service the oil of the aircraft in austere locations where there is no maintenance support. This will ensure that the aircraft remains mission ready in the event of a divert landing and allowing the US Air Force to project greater air power.
