Minimum Technical Specifications, Compact High-Speed Digital Camera System.
1. Basic Configuration: The system will include a Camera Head that contains a Monochrome Image Sensor, and which can accept a standard F-mount lens. The system may include separate Power Supply in order to minimize the size of the Camera Head. The system will include all Interface Cables and Power Cables required for operation with 110 VAC, single phase, 20 A, 60 Hz electrical service. The system will also supply the necessary software to interface with and control the camera using a laptop running the Windows 7 operating system.
2. Mechanical Dimensions: The Vendor will include a Mechanical Sketch of the entire system with correct component external dimensions, and cable attachment locations, in their proposal. The Camera Head footprint must fit within a 35 cm by 15 cm by 15 cm (13.8 inch by 5.9 inch by 5.9 inch) box, not including the user supplied f-mount lens. The Interface Cables and Power Cables will permit at least a 12-foot separation between the Camera Head and the controlling computer and Power Supply. The weight of the camera shall not exceed 6.0 kg (13.23 lbs) and have standard 1/4-20 mounting holes.
3. System Performance: The System must be capable of recording a sequence of at least 2 seconds at rates exceeding 1.3 million frames per second (Mfps). The image size at 1.3 Mfps must be at least 128 pixels by 8 pixels. The system must have a resolution of at least 1 Megapixels at a speed of 7000 fps. The System must be capable of digitizing the image data with at least 8-bit resolution. The monochrome Image Sensor shall have an ISO of at least 7000. The exposure shall be software adjustable and the minimum exposure must be less than 350 nanoseconds. The Image Sensor will include no more than 0.02 % defective pixels. The System must accept an external TTL-level electrical trigger signal to synchronize data recording with an external event and have a timing resolution of less than 50 nanoseconds. The system must interface with aWindows-based laptop via Giga-bit ether protocol.
4. OPTION 1: Laptop control computer: Vendors are invited to offer as an option the addition of a high-speed Microsoft Windows-based operating system laptop computer, preinstalled with control software, and tested with the camera.
5. OPTION 2: F-Mount Lens: Vendors are invited to offer as an option a manually adjustable F-mount Normal Zoom Lens, optimized for use with the high speed camera, capable of imaging objects with working distances ranging from 0.1 meter to 10 meter of sizes ranging from 0.01 meter to 1 meter. The lens shall have an F stop not exceeding 1.5 and a manually adjustable iris.
6. Serviceability and Warranty: The Vendor will clearly describe which parts are covered under the standard Warranty, and the duration of the standard Warranty.
