About this file

This document contains a series of questions and answers (Q&A) regarding a canopy installation project for the Air Force Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base. The key details include a requirement for an Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Pro Range Canopy with installation, specified as a small business set-aside under NAICS code 314910. The canopy requires a tan/beige screen/mesh cloth material with a steel cable perimeter, to be installed on existing pins. Specific requirements include:

Installation specifications: The vendor will install the canopy, with installers requiring base access (Real ID, valid vehicle registration, valid insurance), and will receive a base pass for the project duration. The site has existing columns with one pin per column, with an estimated column height of 10-15 feet. The project has a 60-day performance period, with installation to be completed by the vendor. The canopy is not designed to be removable, despite being located in an area prone to strong winds. Security requirements include obtaining a base pass, and the installation will require an escort on the first day of work to show the working location.

1. Question: I am just verifying. You just need fabric and an installer. Is this correct?

Answer: Yes, at this time we are only looking for the canopy itself (to specified dimensions) and installation.

2. Question: I need some close up picture of the columns(height). I need to see the corner pins. Will my installer have access to bring his truck to the site? Will there be special training or a chaperone to take him.

Answer: Yes they will have access with their truck. They will require an escort the first day of work for a base pass and shown the working location

3. Question: “Do we have a picture of how many pins on each column?”

Answer: one pin on each column

4. Question: “What is the height of the columns?”

Answer from the Mission partner: I do not have that measurement, maybe 10-15 ft?

Answer: No

10. Also, do you know what type of material they're looking for—canvas, screen/mesh, or solid vinyl?

11. Given that this area is prone to strong winds, should the cover be designed to be removable and easy to install?

Answer: No

12. Does this cover have a steel cable that runs along the perimeter of the canopy?

Answer: Yes

13. If there is a steel cable, will the cable need to be replaced as well?

Answer: Not that I am aware of

14. 4. Are there any security requirements for on-site installers? Background checks, security clearance, etc?
