Commercial Internet Service Questions and Answers as of 24 August 2022
Q. For my understanding you are looking for 100M dedicated Internet to support 9 Wi-Fi AP's in different buildings?
A. 100M is what we've been working towards and what our cost estimates from contractors are based
on. We may want higher bandwidth in the future but it is more important to us to get this set up ASAP as we have programs coming to us in the next couple months that will require commercial internet access and the funds expire soon. As long as the system can be upgraded to higher bandwidth later (i.e.
new wiring won't need to be run/trenches dug) we'll press with the 100M.
Q. Have you purchased the AP's and just need the Internet connectivity? 100Mb may not be sufficient depending on number of people using it and application.
A. We do NOT have the APs, we need services as well as all of the hardware.
Q. We have questions in regards to the CLINS. While there are CLINs that have a quantity of 12, but with equipment only, there is a one time charge vs, 12 months. How do you want us to handle these CLINs?
A. The CLINs are not “set in stone” and can be revised at the time of award. Vendors may submit their quotes with CLIN structures and quantities that are more suited to the service offered. The customer (mission partner) will receive the lowest priced quote and determine if it meets their technical needs and if so, the CLIN structure will be tailored to reflect the selected vendor’s quote.
