About this file

This document is a Requirement Description with Salient Characteristics for Portable Vapor Detectors (PVDs) to support Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operations for the THAAD missile system. The PVDs must meet specific technical requirements, including detecting Dinitrogen Tetroxide (N2O4) and Monomethyl Hydrazine (MMH) gases at a minimum concentration of 20 ppm, be single-man portable while wearing Level-A Personal Protective Equipment, and have a probe capable of interfacing with THAAD missile tubes.

Additional critical specifications include battery-powered operation with a minimum continuous usage time of 4 hours, and certification for intrinsic safety in explosive vapor environments. The receiving information indicates the document is to be marked for MSgt Christopher Lavoie, with a delivery address of Unit 14007 Bldg 2600, APO, AP 96543-4009, suggesting this is a military procurement requirement for specialized detection equipment.
