Design, fabricate, and deliver a custom indoor walk in combination refrigeration/freezer unit. The Government will provide installation services:
a. The contractor shall design and fabricate the unit in accordance with sizing shown on the design drawings.
b. All cooler panels shall be compliant with the Federal Energy Independence & Security Act of 2007.
c. The cooler unit shall be of modular construction for installation into an existing facility and finished to withstand a high humidity environment.
d. The condensing unit shall be designed to be separate from the cooler unit for standalone installation on an exterior concrete pad
e. The contractor shall provide for delivery of all materials to the project site.

3.1.3 General Requirements:
1. General reference for this document is the International Mechanical Code, where a specific reference, code, or requirement is not identified the International Mechanical Code shall be applied.
1. Walk-in Combination Refrigerator/Freezer shall consist of:
i. The cooler unit shall be of modular construction for installation into an existing facility and finished to withstand a high humidity environment.
ii. The cooler unit shall include an insulated floor and general all-purpose utility shelving along one side of the refrigeration section and one side of the freezer section.
iii. The cooler unit shall have 4 inch thick insulated metal covered walls. All wall insulation shall be high quality rigid extruded polystyrene. Walls shall have an initial fresh R-28 minimum for the refrigerator and R-32 or greater for the freezer. Vapor transmission shall be less than 1 perm and foam core must meet UL Foam Core 25 flame spread rating with average smoke rating less than 450. (ASTM E-84)
iv. The unit shall be 8 feet deep with a total depth/length of 8 feet 8 inches from the outside front to the outside back. It shall be 10 feet wide to the outside with a 4 inch thick divider wall separating the freezer from the refrigerator. The cooler unit shall have an internal ceiling height of 8 feet.
v. The cooler unit shall have two 6 feet 8 inch tall, 32 inch wide doors (or industry standard size to be accepted by the user prior to contract award) to provide walk-in access with locking hardware with an emergency opening design on the inside of the unit.
vi. The cooler unit shall have 4’ double bulb fluorescent light fixtures with bulb protector screen and external switch. Both sides shall be operated with one switch.
vii. The unit shall have a display on the front with the current temperature of the freezer and the refrigerator along with temperature controls.
viii. The unit shall arrive with all cooling units, electrical components, electrical wiring, connectors, switches, anchors, Freon, and structural hardware to install and operate as a stand-alone unit. Electrical voltage/amperage/phase shall be submitted with the quote for consideration. The condensing unit shall be an external unit with internal fans. The condensing unit shall have enough material to extend thru the exterior wall and connect to the unit.
ix. Deviation in thickness of materials, dimensions, door sizes, etc are to be submitted for approval. The purpose of this is to avoid custom made wall thicknesses when an industry standard product is available and would save money.
