About this file
This document is a "Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776)" issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The Department intends to lease 27 FMC-0919-B Mechanical Juice Extractors from John Bean Technologies Corporation (JBT FoodTech) for the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. These extractors are used to evaluate the maturity of citrus deliveries to processing plants across the state, as mandated by Florida administrative code. JBT FoodTech holds the patent on this extractor model, and the Department has determined there is no equivalent machine available from other sources.
The estimated contract amount is $594,567. The cost of leasing these extractors is reimbursed by the individual processing plants. The Department is publishing this notice to allow other vendors an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to provide the required commodities or services, before the Department moves forward with the single-source procurement from JBT FoodTech.
