About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). FDACS is seeking to lease up to 90 AMC Model 2700 juice extractors from Brown International Corporation, LLC to extract, evaluate, and determine the percent of total soluble solids per pound on delivered citrus. These results are used to determine the maturity of the delivered loads, as required by Chapter 20-34.001 (2), F.A.C. The contract term is from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, and the estimated contract amount is $156,000.
Brown International Corporation, LLC holds patents for the AMC Model 2700 juice extractor, and FDACS has determined there is no equivalent machine available. The cost for leasing the machines is reimbursed by individual processing plants. Prospective vendors who believe they can provide these services are requested to provide relevant information to the contact person listed by April 19, 2022. If it is determined that the services are available only from a single source, FDACS will post notice of its intended decision to enter into an agreement with Brown International Corporation, LLC on the Vendor Bid System pursuant to Section 120.57(3), Florida Statutes.
