About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) posted by the Florida Department of Health (DOH) for the Palm Beach County Health Department (CHD) Laboratory. The DOH, Palm Beach CHD requires the purchase of reagent assay kits to perform HIV-1 RNA (Viral Load) testing, and they are requesting authorization to purchase these kits as a sole source from Hologic, Inc. The quantity required is for a 3-year term, and the estimated dollar amount is $315,000.00. The justification for the single-source acquisition is that the Hologic Aptima reagent is the only one compatible with the equipment currently utilized by the DOH Palm Beach CHD Laboratory.
The document indicates that prospective vendors are requested to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required commodities or services. If it is determined that the commodities or services are available only from a single source, the agency will provide notice of its intended decision to enter a single-source purchase contract.
